Oxford Aficionado

If there’s one thing I love, it’s oxfords. By now, you guys probably know that my love for J.Crew is immense. From the quality of the clothing itself to the classic looks they create, what’s not to love? The pieces the make are so timeless. I’ve always been a sucker for oxfords because I feel like there are no limits. You can dress them up or down. Today, I showcased a few of my favorite colors from my personal oxford collection. I got these from J.Crew, Gap, and of course, H&M. Does anyone else love oxfords as much as I do?

The Switch Up

3 cups of peppermint tea later and I’m officially ready for work.  Today will definitely be one of the longest days of my life  (lol). For those of you who don’t know me personally, I work full time at H&M in Atlantic Station. It’s been at least 2 years since I’ve worked on the sales floor, but my manager asked me to help out with inventory today. On a normal work day, I would ordinarily wear the basics (raw denims and a tee), but today I dressed it up a little.

High Museum

In recognition of National Museum Day, I decided to do something different and pay a visit to Atlanta’s very own- the High Museum of Art. I usually don’t frequent art scenes, but today I thought “why not?”. Personally, it wasn’t what I was expecting. I think I was anticipating more “fun art” (featured local artists, graffiti,etc.). Due to the museum’s “no camera” policy, I didn’t get to snap any pics inside the building itself, but I do have some photos of my outfit to share. Although it wasn’t my cup of tea, I would definitely still suggest you guys check it out. I’ll give it another chance sometime in the near future. Who knows?- Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

Today’s Outfit

A comfortable 72 degrees, I knew today would be the perfect day to break out my favorite H&M parka and ride my bike through the neighborhood. Over the summer, this became a pretty cool thing to do, but now that cold weather is imminent, I  think I’ll give it a rest (lol).

The Man Behind The Lens

Introducing the face behind most of the shots seen here on the blog- Jalani Riley. Lani, as we like to call him, is another great example of young talent coming straight out of my hometown; St. Croix. You can see more of his work here or even better, show him love on Instagram.

Loring Heights

The wait is over; fall is finally here. Today, I welcomed my favorite season by taking a stroll with my brother, Shannon. Loring Heights, a neighborhood in Atlanta situated between Midtown and Buckhead, is known for it’s beautiful homes as well as landscapes- the perfect place for me to clear my mind. Check out my outfit of the day.

Gray Day

So today, as usual, I was swamped with stuff to do. Being productive at home has always been a major challenge for me. Instead, I worked at the Starbucks in my neighborhood where I could focus, get some things accomplished, and of course grab a grean tea latte. For today’s look, I wore one of my favorite Nike Air Max’s and a perfect fitted denim I got from H&M some time ago. It’s been a year since I bought these shoes and my love for them is still rekindled everytime I put them on. Though subtle in color, they make a bold statement. If you’re interested in buying a pair, you can buy them here.

To bring in the fall season, today I had the pleasure of working with Shamaal (my older brother) on a photoshoot alongside my friends Jamie and Ro. Taking into consideration that it hasn’t quite cooled down to winter temperature as yet, I decided to incorporate pieces from the 2 different seasons to create my very own “fall-winter” look.  This blend allows for the perfect balance of style and comfort for the current conditions. Today’s successful shoot was just the beginning of many more to come. Be on the lookout for upcoming work.

An Afternoon In Midtown

These past few days i’ve been swamped with work, but today I found some time to enjoy and walk around my neighborhood, Atlantic Station.  I spent some time in midtown, grab a bite at Starbucks,  and after went to spend some quality time with family.
